“Color and Dance” will serve as the closing ceremony for the 2019 Pudong Festival of Culture and Art, staged at Shanghai Waigaoqiao Culture and Art Center on November 8 and 9.
Presented by the China Ethnic Song and Dance Ensemble, the country’s only nation-level ethnic performing combo, the performance combines singing, dancing and poetry, while using ethnic musical instruments.
The show features dances by various minority groups, such as Zhuang, Dai, Tibetan, Mongolian, Kirgiz, Kazakh, Hani and Uygur, giving the audience a glimpse of the country’s rich and colorful ethnic culture.
“Color and Dance” had been well received when it was staged at Beijing’s National Center For the Performing Arts earlier this year.
The 2019 Pudong Festival of Culture and Art will play host to 600 culture and art-related performances and activities before the curtain is drawn on November 9.
Over 200 art and culture organizations and troupes have participated, while it is estimated that nearly 1.5 million people have attended.
As a preferential policy of the Pudong Festival, all tickets for the performances in Shanghai are priced at 20 yuan.
