The media conference for the 2018 Beijing Contemporary Expo took place at UCCA in 798 art district in Beijing on August 1, revealing a trendy exhibition that will soon take place at National Agricultural Exhibition Center from August 30 to September 2.
With a focus on integrating the internal chronicles and the external communication concerning the values in contemporary Chinese art, the Beijing Contemporary Expo, in collaboration with various art galleries, institutions, collectors, media and brands, aims to build an integrated platform that promotes the development of contemporary Chinese art.
During the media conference, the five different sections – story, future, value, energy and wonder – were discussed. In each section, representatives in art and culture expressed their experiences, visions and plans for contemporary art and the expo.
In the art section, artists Wang Guangle and Haoliang introduced some of their representative artworks and the story behind them. In the wonder section, artist Zhou Li shared with the audience her experience of transitioning from painting to public art gadget. When it comes to the energy section, the founder of Charity Star, a cross-boundary design platform for fashion stars, Shi Yan talked about the concept of establishing Charity Star and its development process. “I hope to work together with the Beijing Contemporary Expo to connect fashion and art,” Shi said. During the expo, Charity Star launch a platform dubbed “the most influential public figure in art” together with the organizing committee of the Beijing Contemporary Expo, in which the consulting group of Beijing Contemporary, Media group and research institute will vote on the most influential public figures in the field of art, including celebrities, cultural celebrities, public opinion leaders, well-known entrepreneurs and other public figures who promote art.
